As Powrmatic’s apprenticeship programme goes from strength to strength, another accolade has been added to the impressive awards received by the company’s apprentices.

In the most recent achievement Michael Rose, aged 21, was Highly Commended in the ‘Outstanding Achievement by a Final Year Apprentice’ category of the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards. These highly respected awards recognise manufacturing success at both regional and national levels.

Michael commented:

“I am very honoured to have received this recognition and I’m very grateful to Powrmatic’s apprenticeship programme for providing me with so many opportunities. It is an excellent programme that has helped me to add to my skills and progress in my career. I hope this achievement encourages other young people to pursue apprenticeships.”

John Morris, CEO of award sponsor Jam Recruitment added:

“Michael undoubtedly deserves this recognition. He impressed the judges with his dedication, determination and drive and should be congratulated for doing so well, especially when up against such an impressive range of other highly talented and inspiring apprentices.”

This latest award sits alongside Michael’s Runner-Up Award at the ICOM Apprentice of the Year Award in 2014. Michael has now finished his apprenticeship and is working as a trainee draughtsman in Powrmatic’s drawing office. Other Powrmatic apprentices who have received awards and recognition include Tom Case, who was the ICOM Energy Associations Apprentice of the Year in 2015.
