Tell us a little about you, what you guys do, and how it all began?
With roots back to the 1960’s Lord Combustion Services have always been specialists in service and maintenance of gas fired equipment, being heavily involved in the conversion from towns gas to natural gas.
Since then Lord Combustion have evolved into one of the West Midlands leading commercial heating service companies, providing not only service, maintenance and reactive works but also full turnkey system design and installation from the repair or replacement of a single radiator or heater to the design and installation of a complete heating and hot water system for a large secondary school.
With 50 directly employed staff, a fully qualified engineering design team and memberships and accreditations including ISO 9001 (UKAS), ISO 14001 (UKAS), BESA, NICEIC, GASSAFE, OFTEC, CONSTRUCTIONLINE, SAFE CONTRACTOR & CHAS Lord Combustion are your ideal commercial heating and hot water partner.

What does a typical day look like for a heating engineer?
A typical day on our service desk can change by the minute, with planned works including planned service visits, gas safety inspections, small works and major projects typically in progress at any one time.
Reactive breakdown calls can, at peak times reach 150 per day with typical response times ranging between 1 – 4 hours.
Whilst this can be extremely challenging for our teams, we are proud that we have never had a customer site close due to a failure of us to attend.
Whats the most useful bit of kit in your toolbox?
Apart from our team members, the most useful bit of kit is our Service Management Systems enabling us to track all of our works in real time with data capture from our guys hand held PDA’s, this is coupled with GPS tracking so that we can accurately ensure that we always allocate works to the closest engineer keeping our response times the most reactive and efficient in the industry.
Whats your favourite Powrmatic product to install and why?
The Powrmatic radiant tube heating systems provides heating directly to where it is required without the need to heat a whole space within a building, coupled with the Powrmatic controls this product makes for a very satisfying installation.
