Padel Court Heating Solution
Powrmatic was selected to deliver a high-performance padel court heating solution for the impressive Racketeer Club facility in Park Royal, London. Installed by Prompt Services, the project required a carefully designed system capable of maintaining consistent temperatures across a large, open-plan converted warehouse space, ensuring year-round comfort for players and visitors.
Racketeer Club is a premium indoor venue located within Park Royal, London’s largest industrial estate. Set inside a refurbished 90,000 sq ft warehouse, the facility combines high-quality padel courts with a vibrant social and recreational environment. The previous heating system was outdated and inefficient, making effective padel court heating difficult, particularly due to the scale, height, and open-plan nature of the building.
Maintaining consistent temperatures at court level was a key challenge, as heat would naturally rise and be lost within the large volume of the space. Racketeer required a modern heating solution that could deliver reliable performance, improve energy efficiency, and integrate seamlessly without impacting the usability or layout of the courts. To address this, Racketeer engaged Prompt Services, a leading provider of commercial HVAC solutions, to deliver an efficient, tailored heating system suited to the demands of the space.
Following a detailed site visit with Powrmatic’s Martin Arden, a tailored padel court heating system was developed to meet the specific demands of the facility. Installed expertly by Prompt Services, the solution incorporated four CX gas cabinet heaters, including two 300kW and two 200kW units, providing the necessary output to heat the entire space effectively. Gas was selected as the most suitable energy source due to the existing supply and its cost efficiency for large-scale heating. An existing Modine wall-mounted heater was retained as part of the facility’s retro aesthetic; however, it was decommissioned and is no longer in operation.
The new heaters were positioned in each corner of the building to maximise coverage while maintaining clear playing areas. Adjustable discharge heads allow warm air to be directed precisely into occupied zones, improving effectiveness at court level. In addition, destratification fans were installed throughout the space to recirculate rising warm air, bringing it back down where it is needed most and enhancing overall system efficiency.
The completed padel court heating system installed by Prompt Services now delivers consistent and efficient climate control across the entire Racketeer facility. Warm air is evenly distributed throughout the space, ensuring improved comfort for players and visitors while minimising temperature variation between floor and ceiling levels.
By combining high-output heating with effective air movement, the system reduces heat loss and improves overall energy efficiency, helping to control operational costs. The discreet placement of equipment ensures that the performance of the system is maximised without compromising the open, high-quality feel of the venue or its day-to-day usability.
