Powrmatic Air Rotation technology has been installed at a major 508,000 sq ft warehouse in the East Midlands, providing effective frost protection throughout the large-volume logistics facility. Working alongside JCB Mechanical and Tidyco, the project utilised Powrmatic TEX gas-fired Air Rotation technology and destratification to distribute conditioned air throughout the 12-metre-high warehouse, without the need for an extensive ductwork system.

Project Background

https://www.powrmatic.co.uk/installer/tidyco-ltd/With a floor area of approximately 508,000 sq ft and an internal height of 12 metres, maintaining suitable temperatures throughout the warehouse presented a significant challenge. The primary requirement was to provide reliable frost protection, while distributing heat effectively throughout the large open space. The system also needed to minimise unnecessary infrastructure and provide a practical solution that could be easily accessed for future maintenance and servicing.

Project Solution

Two Powrmatic TEx 61 gas-fired Air Rotation units were installed by JCB Mechanical & Tidyco alongside two destratification units to provide effective air movement and heat distribution throughout the warehouse. The project also required approximately 250 metres of 6″ and 4″ gas pipework. Air Rotation technology moves large volumes of air throughout the building, while destratification helps reduce temperature differences between high and low level. Importantly, the solution achieves this without the need for extensive distribution ductwork.

Project Result

The completed system provides effective frost protection throughout the 508,000 sq ft warehouse, using just two TEx 61 Air Rotation units supported by two destratification units. The solution delivers effective air movement and more consistent temperature distribution throughout the large-volume space. With no extensive ductwork network required, the system also offers a simpler approach to ongoing servicing and maintenance, demonstrating the suitability of Powrmatic Air Rotation technology for large warehouse and logistics environments.
