Universal Balancing Engineering Facility Heating

Engineering Facility Heating

Powrmatic supplied an air rotation heater for an engineering facility heating solution in Bristol in a new 50,000ft² workshop in partnership with OHS. A single gas-fired TEx31 air rotation heater was installed providing a cost-effective efficient solution while giving staff a comfortable working environment.

  • “The TEx unit is working superbly and heats the entire building with just one unit. The pre-sales, installation and aftersales support from OHS have been excellent. The project was completed on time, and we were very impressed with the quality of installation and performance.”

Project Background

Based in Bristol, Universal Balancing are global leaders in balancing technology for use in production environments requiring precision measurement and fast production capability. Reliability, flexibility, ease of use and error-proofing are core customer requirements that have become synonymous with the Universal Balancing brand of machine. Working in partnership with our trusted installation partners at OHS, Powrmatic’s South West Area Sales Manager Chris Warry specified a gas-fired TEx31 Air Rotation Heater with a modulating fan for noise reduction.

Project Solution

A single gas-fired TEx31 air rotation heater was installed providing a cost-effective efficient solution while giving staff a comfortable working environment. Universal Balancing moved to a 50,000 ft² engineering workshop after outgrowing their previous building. The TEx unit is controlled with a Powrmatic MC200 controller with an additional remote sensor to give an accurate representation of the space could be read when required. The installation team OHS overcame many challenges including the crane and positioning of the TEx unit, getting the gas supply to the heater due to structure and shutter door constraints, alongside getting the flue system installed at a high level due to the building size ensuring the correct weatherproofing of the building penetrations.

Project Result

The Powrmatic TEx range of gas and oil-fired large air rotation heater is specifically designed for the efficient heating of large areas and are especially suitable for open plan warehousing and manufacturing facilities such as Universal Balancing. The TEx unit was chosen to ensure an even temperature throughout the building. Installation costs were significantly reduced compared to a conventional warm air heater system as a result of less gas pipework, fewer flue penetrations and no requirement for destratification fans. There will be a further future saving on servicing costs due to only one floor-standing heater being installed. In addition, Powrmatic LNVx units were installed into the smaller goods areas adjacent.
