Powrmatic was selected to supply a warm air gymnasium heating solution in Belfast in partnership with BSH. Two Powrmatic 120kW LNVx warm air suspended units were installed into the 1584m² gym along with 3 destratification fans.

Project Background

Rainbow Gymastics is a children’s gym in Dundonald Belfast and is one of the largest High-performance facilities in Northern Ireland measuring 12,000 square foot. This includes a purpose-built facility with two Olympic full-sized floor areas and an 18-metre trampoline track and foam pits and bar with foam pit. Rainbow Gymnasium took over the building and inherited a radiant tube heating system that partially worked but didn’t heat the building effectively.

Project Solution

BSH specified and installed a new gymnasium heating solution using two Powrmatic LNVx 120kW heaters along with a destratification system to improve efficiency and lower utility bills. The exercise area covers the entire floor space so each time they had to service them, manual safety scaffolding had to be erected to reach them, then disassembled and re-erected at the next one until complete. Two gas-fired air heaters were installed one with vertical louvres to direct the air around the gym. The heaters were positioned so that they can be maintained off step’s, no need for scaffolding in the future.

Rainbow Gymnastics now benefits from an energy-efficient heating solution which ensures the area and occupants are kept at optimal temperatures throughout the year.
