Distribution Centre Heating Solution
Powrmatic was selected to supply a large distribution centre with an energy-saving air rotation heating system for ILG's 46,800m³ distribution facility in Gatwick working in partnership with Air Ability who supplied and installed just a single Powrmatic TEx41 air rotation heater.
ILG is one of the UK’s leading global delivery and outsourced fulfilment partners. Air Ability has been working with ILG since April 2017. They have carried out 8 installations for them in a number of their sites across the South East of England during this period. These installations range from; designing new heating systems to implementing the replacement of old equipment, with new high-efficiency equipment from market-leading manufacturers. ILG selected the Powrmatic Air Rotation Heater for its impressive energy-saving benefits which aligns with ILG’s mission to make operations more sustainable and environment-friendly.
For this latest project, Air Ability considered and put forward a number of heating options to give the client an informed overview of the options available to them and the associated costs, but championed the Powrmatic TEx Air Rotation heater as the most suitable for this particular application for its ability to evenly circulate warm air throughout a densely stocked distribution facility. The 46,800m³ building was heated with just one Powrmatic TEx air rotation unit which was capable of delivering an impressive 240kW output. The new storage and distribution facility installation included 80m of 4″ welded gas pipework.
ILG Limited are extremely satisfied with the finished installation and performance of the heater. Air rotation technology is ideally suited for the racked warehouses and are specifically designed for the efficient heating of large areas and are especially suitable for open plan warehousing and manufacturing facilities. The TEx air rotation units utilise high-efficiency axial fans to move large volumes of air and achieve uniformity in the distribution of heated air that cannot be matched by conventional units that treat low volumes of air at high temperature.
