Andover-based Southern Converters offers a wide range of converting services, encompassing sheeting (including large format), panelling, guillotining, slitting, re-reeling, and packing. As part of its environmental policy the company is committed to reducing its carbon footprint so, when sourcing a heating solution for its 28,755m2 distribution centre, energy efficiency was a key criterion.
Powrmatic VPC cabinet gas heaters have been included in a complete commercial gas piping installation by Andover Gas for Southern Converters. The three floor-standing VPC 130 heaters are operating in conjunction with Powrmatic CECX destratification fans to optimise distribution of heated air.
Previously there was no heating in the facility, and no mains gas supply. Andover Gas therefore installed a gas mains to the building and recommended the use of Powrmatic VPC units for space heating. The VPC heaters are horizontally and vertically flued to suit their location within the space – taking advantage of the close flue system design - and the distribution heads are orientated to direct heat to areas where people are working.
The VPC heaters have been supplied with Powrmatic MC200 controllers to further enhance the inherently efficient operation of the heaters.
