The training centre was the first purpose-built apprentice training facility for the British ‘Ag and Turf’ industry and has been designed specifically for training John Deere dealer apprentices. During the very cold weather of winter 2017/2018, however, the 240m2 workshop area was proving too cold for the apprentices to work.
A Powrmatic ErP CPx oil-fired cabinet heater, specified and installed by Heatserv Solutions, is enabling apprentices attending the John Deere Apprentice Training Centre to learn their craft in comfort.
The company therefore contacted Heatserv Solutions, which recommended a Powrmatic CPx oil-fired, freestanding warm air heater. Located on one side of the space, the unit incorporates three warm air outlets orientated in different directions to ensure even distribution of warm air.
Mark Knibbs of Heatserv recalled: “The trainees were being kept out of the workshop because of the cold so it was important to get their training back on course. This was a large space to heat but within half an hour of commissioning the CPx unit, a comfortable working environment had been achieved.”
Powrmatic ErP CPx are fully compliant with the seasonal efficiency requirements of the Ecodesign regulation (EU) 2015/1188, Directive 2009/125/EC - Lot 21 Tier 1. John Deere will therefore benefit from excellent energy efficiency as well as improved comfort.
