Textile manufacturing heating at Turtle Doves’ new workshop and sales building in Shrewsbury is being provided by a Powrmatic NVx warm air heater, in conjunction with two HCF destratification fans, specified and installed by Lindon Heating and Cooling. A Vision 2.3 condenserless heat pump air conditioner has also been supplied for the drying room.
Turtle Doves specialises in recycling post-consumer waste cashmere and silk from charity shops and textile merchants to create new garments and accessories. The company has expanded rapidly since its formation in 2009 and recently moved from a 1,500ft2 facility to a new 6,000ft2 building.
“There was no heating in the new building so we needed a system that would ensure staff were comfortable during the cold weather. Lindon was recommended by our landlord and we are very pleased with the performance and responsiveness of the Powrmatic heating system”
The NVx 50F used for textile manufacturing heating at Turtle Doves uses a cross-flow axial fan to ensure even heat distribution throughout the space, whilst the HCF 1400 fans ensure there is no thermal stratification at high level. All of the units have been supplied in a special white finish to complement the décor of the workshop.
The Vision 2.3 heat pump, which will provide energy-efficient drying of the textiles after they have been washed, features a condenserless design so that no outdoor unit is required.
